Pop Monkey Announces New Projects Including Venture With Eccentric British Billionaire, Alki David
LOS ANGELES, CA (NOVEMBER 10, 2010) Following
their recent launch announced, Pop Monkey Productions, the LA
based company set up by British execs Chuck Thomas and Simone Thorogood
with US TV veterans Syd Vinnedge and Hugh Wright, have announced a raft
of new projects including a co-production with eccentric British
Billionaire, Alki David.
The project, "Alki David's Right
Hand Man" follows the controversial media tycoon, who recently hit the
headlines by offering $1m to the first person to streak in front of
President Obama to promote his website, Battlecam.
Other new projects include:
A cross-platform reality show starring Black Eyed Peas head stylist, Lor-e Phillips. "I am
thrilled to be working with Pop Monkey on Style 911, it is truly
exciting to be able to give emerging designers a life-changing
opportunity", said Phillips.
An interactive hidden camera format, "You're The Boss" with former CCO of FremantleMedia North America, Eugene Young.
An interactive game show format, "The Jury", optioned by Paris based FrenchTV.
A UK version of US awards show, "The Asian Excellence Awards", which has aired on E! Entertainment.
"We're
excited to be working with Alki David and Lor-e Phillips on these
cross-platform shows that we hope will engage audiences and offer
broadcasters additional revenue streams", said Thomas. "I'm also
thrilled to be collaborating with Eugene Young and FrenchTV and hope
this will be the first of many international co-productions to come".
The
formats were created in-house by co-founders, Thomas and Thorogood, and
follows Pop Monkey's recent development deal with LA based, ITV Studios and pilot for VH1.
